ListBelanja
A household budget that fills itself in
Most budgeting apps fail because you have to type in every expense. In ListBelanja, the receipts you scan for tax are already budget data — category, shop, date and amount.
No credit card · BM, English & 中文 · your records live in the cloud, not on one phone

Where your money goes, age of money & trends
See where your money goes this month: the financial dashboard draws a Sankey flow chart — money in on the left flows to each spending category and to savings on the right, with an accessible table for screen readers. Age of money estimates how many days your money rests before it is spent — a rising number means you are spending last month's pay, not this week's — with a trend over several months. In Money › Reports, the Trend card shows a category × month matrix with totals and changes, a comparison with the same period last year and a daily spending heatmap so the heaviest days and weeks stand out at a glance; the matrix can be exported as CSV. Everything is calculated from your own receipts, cash spending and money in.
Fast entry, Spending leaks, share cards & budget alerts
Logging spending is now faster: on a phone the amount field opens a large keypad with 00, a decimal point, quick-amount chips and plus/minus maths right there (the system keyboard is always one tap away); merchant names are suggested from your own records and, when picked, the usual amount and category are filled in; a long press on the Note or Scan button opens quick actions — templates, recent merchants, Scan receipt, Shopping list. The financial dashboard gains two cards: Spending leaks detects small frequent spends, rising subscriptions, duplicate charges within 48 hours, fees and charges, weekend spikes and late-night spending — each with an estimated RM per month and one suggestion; Spending by location groups receipts by town and state from the address on the receipt, with no GPS. Any receipt or expense can be shared as a Story, Post or Square card with a frame of your choice and the amount hidden if you wish. Handwritten, faded or crumpled receipts get their own mode so the AI reads what is legible and flags what is doubtful without inventing totals. When the month's budget reaches 80 % and 100 %, an alert is sent once to your phone (app notification) or Telegram — switchable in Reminders.
What you see
- Money in, money out and this month's balance for the whole family.
- Breakdown by category: groceries, health, school, utilities and more.
- Monthly commitments (rent, loans, fees) so the real balance never surprises you.
- Cash spending without receipts — stalls, parking, fares — logged in two seconds.
- Warranties for big purchases, with a reminder before they expire.
Import a bank, card or e-wallet statement (CSV)
Spending without a receipt — fares, stall meals, subscriptions — usually only exists in your statement. Download a CSV from your internet banking or e-wallet and import it: the date, description and amount columns are detected automatically for any bank, spending that already has a receipt or a cash record is flagged so nothing is counted twice, and a category is suggested from the description. You review, tick, and those rows go into the budget as spending without a receipt. The file is read on your device only — never sent to the server.
Category spending limits & voice entry
- Set a limit for each category for every pay period (or month) in Financial analysis — you're told when a category reaches 80% and when it goes over.
- Record spending without a receipt by voice: say "nasi lemak five ringgit yesterday" in BM, English or 中文 — the amount, item and date fill themselves in, and you check them before saving.
- Speech is turned into text by your own browser; ListBelanja only receives the text you save, never an audio recording.
Subscriptions & recurring bills, detected automatically
Insurance, fees, subscriptions, rent, instalments — the same name repeating at a fixed interval (weekly, monthly or yearly) with a near-identical amount is recognised as a recurring bill, from receipts, cash expenses and imported statement lines. The Money card shows how much, when next, and which are overdue but not seen yet (forgot to scan? cancelled?). One tap adds it to your monthly commitments so the real balance never surprises you.
One set of data, three uses
The same receipt ticks the shopping list, fills the budget and proves your tax relief claim. You record it once; ListBelanja uses it everywhere it's needed.
Money calendar: payday, bills & alerts before due dates
- One monthly calendar: payday, monthly & yearly bills, subscription trial ends and recurring bills detected from receipts & statements.
- “Will it last until payday?” — your balance after unpaid bills before payday, with an alert when it falls short.
- Alerts 3 days and 1 day before the date in the app, by e-mail & notification; bills whose receipt or statement line has arrived are marked paid by themselves.
- A monthly set-aside for yearly bills (road tax, insurance, assessment tax, school fees) and a badge when a subscription price goes up.
- A private subscription link for phone & computer calendar apps — titles & dates only, amounts optional, can be changed or turned off.
A budget that follows your actual payday
- Your monthly budget cycle starts on your actual payday and ends the day before the next one.
- Civil servants: the Accountant General's Department official date for every month, refreshed automatically every day — amended dates are marked with the original date.
- Fixed day (moved when it falls on your state's rest day or an official public holiday), last working day, twice a month, weekly, fortnightly or irregular pay — answer one question in My salary; one-off dates too.
- “Will it last until payday?” and the money calendar count down to your real payday; an uploaded payslip updates the budget's net pay by itself.
Home: what is left to spend until payday
The new Home screen opens with what is left to spend in this pay cycle (or this month), a per-day guide, and short stats — reliefs collected, spent, tax saved and commitments. On desktop, navigation becomes a sidebar and sheets open as a panel on the right.
Accounts & money plan in the same budget
- Cash, bank, credit card and e-wallet accounts with real balances — transfers between your own accounts are not spending and stay out of the budget.
- Refunds reduce spending in the original receipt's category.
- Loan instalments, goal savings and subscriptions become the same monthly commitments — the money calendar and “Will it last until payday?” count them exactly once.
- Split a bill from a receipt with friends; only your share stays as your spending.
This week, envelopes & learned categories
- This week's spending compared with earlier weeks up to the same day, by category.
- Category limits can carry the balance to the next cycle (envelopes) — overspending is taken off.
- Shops you categorised before get the same category in statement imports & receipt-less spending.
Custom reports & the weekly recap
- Build a custom report — period, spending or money in, grouped by category, shop, project or month — and keep it as a saved view to reopen or export to CSV and Excel.
- An optional weekly recap by email or notification on Monday morning: last week's spending against weekly budgets, top categories, this week's unpaid bills and goal progress — off by default.
