Accounts & balances — every ringgit in the right account
Add your cash, bank, credit card, e-wallet, savings or loan accounts with their opening balances. From then on every receipt, expense without a receipt, money in and payslip you link moves that account's balance — and the same record fills your budget, analysis and tax review, so nothing is entered twice.

Passive income, physical assets, insurance & heir access
Your passive income now appears in the money calendar: EPF, ASB and ASM, Tabung Haji, share dividends, Form B rent and savings interest are projected from the last declared rates (no rate, no projection) and marked received when matching money in is recorded. Physical assets complete your net worth — vehicles with straight-line depreciation, property with dated valuations (old valuations labelled), jewellery from weight, purity and the official gold price — and joint-ownership percentages apply to the asset and its linked loan. The insurance & takaful register keeps policies, nominees, cover per person and renewal dates (fed into the existing bill reminders), links premiums to the related tax reliefs and lists cover gaps as facts. Heir access is an inactivity switch: after the period you set and reminders at 30, 7 and 1 days, contacts who confirmed themselves receive a read-only summary — no passwords, keys or vault contents are ever sent.
Credit health, retirement & FIRE, asset allocation
Credit health is calculated from your own records, without pulling a credit report: credit card utilisation (owed versus limit), debt service ratio (DSR, the same formula as the public calculator), an on-time payment streak from the paid marks in your money calendar, new credit lines in 12 months and buy-now-pay-later balances. You can log scores you checked yourself, and a step-by-step Bank Negara eCCRIS guide and an AKPK link appear when your debt ratio is high. The retirement & FIRE planner projects your EPF at 55, 60 or an age you choose on three dividend paths ever declared (lowest, median, highest), works out your FIRE number from yearly spending and the gap at retirement in today's ringgit. Asset allocation shows your split across cash, EPF, unit trusts, shares and gold against your targets, the drift and the effect of the fees you enter.
How it works
- Open Accounts & balances in the app and add your first account: type, name, opening balance and its date — records before that date are not counted.
- When saving a receipt, an expense without a receipt, money in or a payslip, choose the account — the app suggests one from the payment method on the receipt.
- Record transfers between your own accounts: paying a credit card, withdrawing cash, moving money into savings or repaying a loan. A transfer is neither income nor spending.
- Enter the closing balance from a bank or card statement: the app shows the difference and records not yet linked to an account, or creates an adjustment so the balances match.
Every kind of account
- Cash and e-wallets for everyday spending.
- Bank and savings accounts — the account balance on any date, with a chart for the chosen period.
- Credit cards — the amount owed, credit limit, available balance and statement day.
- Loans and buy now pay later as liabilities.
- Investments and other accounts.
- Foreign-currency accounts stay in their own currency; total assets & net worth use the latest BNM selling rate.
Transfers are not spending — nothing counted twice
A credit card purchase counts as spending once, on that receipt. When you pay the card bill from your bank account, that is a transfer that reduces what you owe on the card — not a second expense. The same goes for cash withdrawals, money moved into savings or loan repayments: both balances move, but your budget, analysis and tax stay the same.
A refund from a shop reduces spending in the original receipt's category and is not counted as income. The account summary shows the assets, liabilities and net balance of all your accounts.
Import a statement straight into an account
- Choose the bank, card or e-wallet account for each statement.
- Transfers to your own accounts are recorded as transfers, not spending.
- Lines already in that account are not imported twice.
- The statement's closing balance is compared with the app balance for reconciliation.
Private by default, with no bank password
Your accounts are seen only by you. Mark an account “shared” so the group admin and auditor can view its balance and history — read-only. You never hand over an online banking password, OTP or TAC: balances are worked out from the records you keep and the statement files you download from your bank yourself.
Foreign-currency accounts in RM
- Accounts in another currency stay in their currency; total assets & net worth use the latest BNM selling rate, with the rate date shown.
- No rate → that account is not mixed into the RM totals and the app says so.
- Balances come from every linked record — receipts, receipt-less spending, money in, salary and transfers.
My categories, quick actions & currencies
- My categories: your own subcategories under each category (e.g. Food & drink › Coffee), reorder & hide — category pickers across the app follow your order.
- A supermarket receipt can be split by item category; the receipt stays one proof and Money shares its value across categories.
- Quick actions on every expense: duplicate, move the date by a day, add the time, turn it into a transfer or instalments.
- Cross-currency transfers keep the amount sent and the amount received; “coffee 5 usd” in a quick note is converted at the BNM selling rate.
Unpaid bills, card rewards & investment holdings
- Photograph an unpaid bill (electricity, water, internet, assessment tax, insurance): the biller, amount and due date are read, the bill goes into the money calendar with reminders 3 days and 1 day before, and it is marked paid when a matching receipt, expense or bank alert arrives.
- Enter your card rewards rules (points or cashback by category and cap) — the app estimates rewards from the card spending you record. An optional transfer fee is recorded as an expense of the source account and linked to that transfer.
- Record investment holdings — units, cost and latest price with its date and source — so your net worth is complete; share a net worth or month summary card as an image, with the option to hide amounts.
Frequently asked questions
Does ListBelanja connect directly to my bank account?
No. No online banking password, OTP or TAC is ever asked for. You import a statement file (CSV, Excel or PDF) downloaded from your bank; lines are matched with existing records and are not imported twice.
Is a credit card payment counted twice?
No. A card purchase counts as spending once, on its receipt. Paying the card bill from your bank account is a transfer that reduces the card balance, not a new expense.
Who can see my accounts in a group?
Only you. Accounts you mark “shared” can be viewed by the group admin and auditor, read-only; other members never see them.
