The record-keeping rule

Records must be kept for 7 years from the end of the year the tax return is filed. That includes relief receipts, EA forms, business records and rental documents.

A tidy receipt list: quick filters (needs a check, tax relief, warranty, failed reads, this month), your own sort order (date, amount, shop, recently added) and monthly totals in each heading — receipt dates are read day-first as printed in Malaysia, and uncertain ones are flagged for you to confirm.

Records that stay useful after tax season

• Warranties: the expiry of every fridge, phone or washing machine is recorded from its receipt — the app reminds you before it ends, and the receipt image never fades.
• Reminders: e-mail & phone notifications from the server before the e-Filing deadline (even when the app is closed), a calendar file (tax deadlines, warranties, bills) or a browser notification when something matters — plus real-time activity notifications (a claim approved, a new receipt in the group inbox), free.

Your records in public: hide amounts & device lock

• Hide amounts: one tap on the eye button in the header and every RM amount on screen becomes •••• — press and hold to peek at one amount. Exports, prints and CSV keep the real figures.
• Device lock: lock the app with your face, fingerprint or device PIN — it re-locks after the app has been in the background for the period you choose. This is a local screen lock on that device, not a second login factor; your account and password still protect the data.
• Each device is registered separately and can be removed from settings; a device without biometric or PIN verification is told so plainly, and the app never locks you out if settings fail to load.
