ListBelanja

For salaried employees: the PCB deducted vs the tax you actually owe

Most employees overpay through the year because the employer only counts statutory reliefs. Lifestyle, medical, SSPN, gym, books — these are only claimed if the receipts exist in April. ListBelanja keeps them from January. Inside the app, the "Who are you?" card on the Home tab turns this into your first 3 steps, ticked off as you go.

Scenario: how it plays out

  1. January: scan last year's EA form in Tax data — salary, PCB and EPF fill themselves in for BE e-Filing, the calculator and your tax estimate.
  2. Through the year: snap receipts, forward e-receipts or send them to Telegram; each is matched to that year's LHDN relief and the cap tracked.
  3. Any time: the PCB calculator shows a year's PCB versus your real tax after reliefs — the refund to expect.
  4. March–April: the BE e-Filing assistant shows every MyTax box with its figure; Copy, paste, submit. Lock the year; the audit pack is ready if LHDN asks.

The right plan

The Free plan is enough for one employee: 15 AI scans a month, unlimited manual entries. Individual when you scan more.

Monthly payslips: read on your device, analysed for you

  • Upload your JANM e-Payslip or employer payslip — digital PDFs are read without AI, you confirm every line before saving
  • Month-to-month changes: basic-salary rises, allowances or deductions starting or ending, bonus, arrears, overtime
  • Annual tax estimate from your payslips against PCB (expected refund or top-up) and EPF against the relief limit
  • Civil servants: deduction headroom against the official JANM limit and official ANM pay dates that update themselves
  • Cost of living and a budget suggestion from net pay, recorded spending and fixed outgoings — files are yours alone, deleted once confirmed

EA or EC form — upload once, read directly without AI

  • Private sector: the EA form. Civil servants: the EC form from JANM ePenyata Gaji. Both fill in Tax data the same way — remuneration, PCB, EPF, SOCSO, zakat and exempt allowances
  • Digital PDFs are read directly on your device without AI and without quota; total remuneration is checked against the income lines — only a reading that passes is shown as certain; photos or scanned PDFs are read by AI
  • Two employers in one year? Upload both forms — totals add up by themselves and the same form twice is caught
  • A copy of the file is kept as proof only if you want it; delete the copy any time without losing the figures; identity numbers on the document are not stored

Paydays, public holidays & government aid

  • Paydays that follow state rest days and official public holidays, with one-off dates
  • Payslip export to CSV or Excel
  • STR estimate, announced payment phases and SARA balance with a reminder before expiry

Frequently asked questions

I have no other income — do I need to file?

It depends. You must file if you have chargeable income — unless your PCB is your final tax (same employer all year, no other income, tax not borne by the employer, separate assessment if married). Changed employers or have other income? File Form BE. If more PCB was deducted than your real tax, filing gets you a refund. The public tax calculator and the app's 5 beginner questions work this out with LHDN's YA2026 rules.

My employer already deducts PCB — why do I still need receipts?

PCB is an estimate made without your receipts. Your real tax after reliefs is usually lower; the difference is refunded only if you file with valid receipts.
